Scouts Summer Camp 2023 – Margam Park

Date: 7th Aug 2023 Author: Ben Ball

16 Scouts and 3 Leaders braved unseasonably wet and windy weather camping at Margam Park this July/August.

The weather created it’s own challenges but all had a great time. Over the course of 4 nights and 5 days the Scouts enjoyed orienteering, Stand up Paddleboarding, an assault course, water bomb fight, BBQ and loads of wide games. When the rain poured they all got creative making paracord rope bracelets and key chains, backed up with Uno and top Trumps!

Under close supervision Scouts did all their own cooking…..and clearing up!

A hike to Pulpit Rock with views from Oxwich Point in the west to Porthcawl in the east.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
